The Public Procurement Report in Portugal presents a generic characterization of public procurement in Portugal in 2011.
Through this Report the Institute of Construction and Real Estate (InCI) presents the main indicators of public procurement in Portugal, thus contributing to a better understanding of this important domain of activity in the public sector.
The Report is based on data obtained through this BASE portal. The global figures presented illustrate, from the outset, a strong retraction in new public contracts compared to the previous year, with the total values of national public contracts falling from 11 billion euros to about 4.7 billion euros (a drop 56%), a decrease that is mainly explained by the sharp drop in the volume of public works contracts.
